WHAT YOU’LL DO

 

The Comp and Benefits Program Specialist is responsible for supporting the administration and coordination of a variety of employee benefit and compensation programs. This includes assisting with leave of absence programs, employee recognition initiatives, new hire benefit orientations, and general comp and benefits support. This role ensures the accurate execution of comp and benefits processes and provides timely, helpful service to employees and internal stakeholders.

 

Day-To-Day Responsibilities:

 

  • Maintain accuracy of all benefits enrollments in the HRIS, ensuring timely updates to provide vendors with correct eligibility information.
  • Facilitate and participate in new hire benefit orientations, clearly communicating plan details, enrollment procedures, and timelines.
  • Support and help coordinate employee recognition programs, including service awards and other engagement initiatives.
  • Perform regular quality audits of benefits-related data to ensure compliance and prevent errors.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for employee’s questions regarding benefits claims, plan changes, coverage questions, and issue resolution.
  • Distribute benefits enrollment materials, determine employee eligibility, and process enrollments with carriers, including life status changes.
  • Respond promptly to benefits inquiries from managers and employees regarding plan provisions, enrollment status, contribution amounts, and general program information.
  • Administer and track all leave-of-absence requests and disability paperwork, including medical, personal, short-term/long-term disability, and FMLA requests.
  • Interpret and apply FMLA and ADA requirements to leave requests, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and company policy.
  • Address 401(k) plan inquiries, assist with enrollments, manage contribution changes, and coordinate annual catch-up contribution enrollment processes.
  • Assist with the annual open enrollment process, including preparation of materials, employee communication, and enrollment processing.
  • Prepare and deliver reports for benefits allocation, billing, and cost tracking as required by Finance and HR leadership.
  • Support compensation-related activities, including gathering market data, assisting with annual merit and bonus cycles, and maintaining pay-related records in the HRIS
  • Assist in tracking salary adjustments, promotional increases, and compensation changes for compliance and audit purposes.
  • Collaborate with the Compensation team to ensure alignment between pay structures, benefits offerings, and internal policies.
  • Partner with the Compensation team to track and maintain documentation related to pay equity reviews, market adjustments, and compliance with state and federal pay transparency laws.
  • Collaborate with the Commissions team to verify sales incentive data, ensuring accurate calculation and timely processing of commission payments.
  • Assist in reconciling commission-related discrepancies by gathering supporting documentation, validating sales transactions, and coordinating adjustments with HR, Finance, and Sales leadership.
  • Perform additional tasks, responsibilities, and projects as needed to support the team and organization, ensuring flexibility in adapting to evolving priorities and objectives.

  • Knowledge of employee benefits and applicable laws
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Research and analytical
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
  • 2 years’ experience in HR and/or benefits administration

 

Nice-To-Haves:

 

  • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) certification credential
