WHAT YOU’LL DO

As an Associate Project Engineer, you will contribute to the successful execution of AV integration projects by supporting your senior engineers and project managers. This entry-level role focuses on learning and development while assisting with post-award activities, such as creating or reviewing bill of materials, drawings, infrastructure requirements, network coordination, and preparing installation and commissioning documentation.  Additionally, you will perform system testing and troubleshooting under supervision.

You will work closely with the project team to ensure tasks are completed accurately and efficiently. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented, flexible individual eager to build technical skills and gain hands-on experience in the AV field. Supervision from more-senior engineers and mentorship opportunities will guide your professional growth.

Day-To-Day Responsibilities:

Design and Documentation Support

  • Assist in reviewing preliminary project design documents, such as Scope of Work (SOW) and contracts, to validate completeness and feasibility.
  • Serve as a go-to peer review resource for engineers by ensuring accuracy and clarity in drawings and change orders.
  • Help create and update engineering project documents, including infrastructure drawings, equipment placement diagrams, and riser diagrams, under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Generate cable pull sheets and assist with calculations, such as heat and power requirements.

Project and Change Order Assistance

  • Assist fellow engineers with large change order work by preparing and updating necessary design and documentation.
  • Help assemble technical closeout documentation, including "as-built" drawings and programming files.

Field Support and Flexibility

  • Act as a backup to support the primary Project Engineer on large projects as needed.
  • Collaborate with the commissioning and programming team to create deployment and commissioning guides.
  • Travel to job sites as needed to support the installation team and gain hands-on field experience.

  • Perform additional tasks, responsibilities, and projects as needed to support the team and organization, ensuring flexibility in adapting to evolving priorities and objectives.

Additional Considerations

  • Work hours may vary based on project needs and client requirements.
  • Travel to job sites is required, sometimes with short notice, to support field operations and training opportunities.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Must-Haves:

  • A proactive approach to self-learning and improvement, with a willingness to take on new challenges.
  • Flexibility to adapt to shifting priorities and support multiple projects effectively.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Basic familiarity with AV systems, IT networking, or related technologies.
  • Effective communication skills for collaborating with teammates and supervisors.
  • Valid driver’s license and a motor vehicle record that meets company standards.

Nice-To-Haves:

  • Formal education in Electronics, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • AV integration experience, especially field installation or service, is a plus but not required.
  • Familiarity with industry standards such as AVIXA (CTS certification) or networking concepts.
  • Experience with DSP or control system programming tools is a plus.
  • Previous experience in a technical support or field-related role is a plus but not required.
  • Proficiency with basic design tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Bluebeam Revu) and willingness to learn more advanced tools.

WHY YOU’LL LIKE WORKING HERE

  • Medical benefits, including vision and dental
  • Paid holidays and PTO
  • Enjoyable and dynamic company culture
  • Training and professional development opportunities
