WHAT YOU’LL DO
This role is responsible for the final testing and commissioning of complexed Audio-Visual systems during and post build. This position will also provide technical/management leadership on major tasks or technology assignments as well as establish goals and plans that meet project objectives. You’ll work closely with the Project Manager to provide documented test result from system testing and commissioning.
1. Review drawings and bill of materials (BOM) for upcoming projects, identifying any design issues in smaller projects valued up to $250,000.
2. Create and maintain IP spreadsheets, while coordinating with Field Engineers and preparing any necessary job documentation.
3. Load firmware onto AV equipment.
4. Set IP addresses for AV devices and ensure they communicate with each other for Field Engineers to test in larger rooms.
5. Load initial code revisions for larger systems to facilitate testing by Field Engineers.
6. Test smaller systems in coordination with Programmers to achieve a fully operational setup.
7. Have a basic understanding of Digital Signal Processing (DSP) code writing and audio flow.
8. Possess a fundamental knowledge of network topology and basic network testing, including identifying port numbers on walls and entering them into spreadsheets, as well as identifying switch port numbers for customer networks using the latest network tools.
9. Troubleshoot video, EDID, and audio routing issues.
10. Demonstrate good time management skills.
11. Be prepared for approximately 20% travel for this role.
12. Create Return Merchandise Authorizations (RMAs) and follow them through to completion to close out projects.
13. Commission MTR (Microsoft Teams Rooms) setups.
14. Commission Zoom rooms.
15. Commission Neat Bars, Poly, and Logo rooms.
This role serves as a learning opportunity and a springboard for advancement to other positions within our office. You will receive training under a Field Engineer on larger projects.
