WHAT YOU WILL DO
AVI-SPL is hiring an Onsite Studio Manager proficient in studio, remote, and virtual productions, encompassing technical directing, camera operation, audio mixing, teleprompter, and lighting, as well as live streaming and events. This role will coordinate between studio customers, technicians, producers, and external contractors to deliver excellent experience for presenters and crew, while ensuring flawless technical execution.
DAY TO DAY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Develop, document and implement processes and playbooks to guarantee a seamless and technically flawless studio experience, especially for high-profile CEO appearances on broadcast outlets.
• Create and maintain comprehensive pre-event checklists and redundancy plans in partnership with technology partners.
• Develop and implement systems, including calendars and online tools, to enhance studio operations and efficiency.
• Maintain a real-time dashboard to track usage metrics and gather customer feedback
• Ensure adequate staffing by proactively planning for internal and external resource/crew needs
• Manage projects, assign tasks, and track progress
• Collaborate with key stakeholders, including Brand and Corporate Communications, on studio set design
• Partner with Brand to establish shared design principles for video shooting on location and composition
• Align with stakeholders on quality and workflow requirements
• Establish and maintain a robust backup and archive strategy for media and footage, including gaining client approval for any implemented systems
• Make sure all discrepancies are communicated and resolved to the clients’ satisfaction and in a timely manner.
• Brainstorm ideas and provide solutions to enhance production value, facility, technology and process improvements.
• Responsible for the scheduling and management of all production support personnel.
• Work in conjunction with on-site staff to maintain all equipment and make sure it is in a proper and effective working condition.
• Make recommendations on studio and control room equipment changes and upgrades.
• Make recommendations on workflow efficiencies and production management.
• Fill in necessary production crew positions as needed..
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Must-have skills & job qualifications
• Deep understanding of studio equipment and software: A solid grasp of audio engineering, video production, and relevant software (DAWs, editing software, etc.) is essential.
• Network and IT knowledge: Familiarity with network infrastructure, troubleshooting, and software installation are crucial for smooth operations.
• Troubleshooting: Ability to troubleshoot and examine the technology to support timely root cause analysis.
• Knowledge of following Technologies: Canon Camera systems, Black Magic switching and routing systems, LED wall technologies, Yamaha audio, MS Outlook, ServiceNow Platform, Studio Lighting, Streaming tech: Zoom, Streamyard, Riverside, etc.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in production, broadcast, events or similar field.
• Business acumen: Understanding the financial aspects of studio operations, including budgeting.
• Strong work ethic, self-direction, self-motivation, patience, persistence and the ability to get along with coworkers and customers.
• The ability to build rapport, resolve conflicts, and collaborate effectively with diverse personalities is key.
• Clear and concise communication with clients, team members, and other stakeholders is vital for building trust and ensuring project success.
• Work performance and cooperation that serves as a role model for all. Ability to maintain a positive attitude, even under stress.
• Good technical knowledge of traditional broadcast and digital broadcast equipment.
• The ability to adjust to changing circumstances, embrace new technologies, and stay updated with industry trends is essential.
