This is a SkillBridge training opportunity open exclusively to transitioning U.S. military service members. As a General Installer , you’ll support our Field Installation teams and gain exposure to real-world AV system builds, cabling, and onsite integration tasks.
This hands-on experience is designed to build a strong foundation in AV installation work and prepare you for potential career opportunities post-transition.
Learn and follow AVI-SPL installation standards, safety protocols, and escalation procedures
Assist with AV cable pulling, terminating, labeling, and testing
Help with mounting displays, installing equipment, and rack assembly
Support delivery coordination, inventory control, and tool tracking
Participate in daily job site check-ins and communicate project updates
Maintain a clean and safe work environment
Shadow experienced installers and technicians on live projects
Must-Haves:
Active duty service member approved for SkillBridge participation
Interest in AV, electronics, or low-voltage systems
Ability to follow directions, work safely, and lift/move equipment
Basic communication and teamwork skills
Nice-To-Haves:
Experience using hand or power tools
Familiarity with low-voltage cable types (HDMI, CAT6, fiber, etc.)
Exposure to job sites, construction environments, or field service work
Interest in pursuing CTS or OSHA certifications
Exposure to a fast-growing technology industry
Hands-on experience and real-world job shadowing
Training support from senior technicians and field leaders
Opportunity to build a foundation for future employment in AV
Potential to be considered for a full-time role after successful program completion
Training Type: DoD SkillBridge Internship
Format: On-the-job training + online resources
Length: 4 weeks / 160 hours
Compensation: This is an unpaid internship through the DoD SkillBridge program. Participants will continue to receive military pay and benefits during the training period.
