XTG is a global team that develops, designs, and supports experiential projects in partnership with AVI-SPL regional offices.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
As part of XTG (Experience Technology Group), Project Engineers provide post-sales support to bring immersive and experiential projects to life in partnership with AVI-SPL offices around the globe. This engineering role will provide additional details about how a design approach will be built and configured to uphold the vision of the XTG pre-sales team and our growing network of creative partners.
XTG Project Engineers will research solutions, coordinate information with partners and vendors, and support technical troubleshooting during in-process installations, owning the outcomes of the final product. This particular role will have an additional emphasis on Medical Simulation systems for capture, recording, processing, and distribution of audiovisual content within a business context.
Day-To-Day Responsibilities:
- Provide technical oversight of a project from award through installation and completion, including creative technology engineering details and system configuration coordination for XTG and their partners
- Review project Scope of Work (SOW) to ensure quality and completeness so that remote/regional delivery teams are able to understand design intent
- Perform peer-review, refinement and development of engineering and architectural (RCP/Floor Plan) coordination drawings, calculations and other pre-construction design and documentation
- Identify, address, and plan mitigation of technical or logistical impediments to delivering scope of work
- Identify special requirements for project, including but not limited to: contracted technical specialists, custom hardware, specialized tools, rigging support
- Participate in the design, planning and coordination of on-going change requests during project execution
- Plan, coordinate, and document equipment configurations for audio DSP, video processing, content playout, displays/projectors and other experiential systems, providing system programming support to project installation team when needed
- Test audio DSP or video processing systems software required for system functionality
- Test integrated systems and perform troubleshooting when needed
- Provide engineering support to project installation team when needed
- Provide technical oversight on commissioning of systems both in-house and on-site
- Meet with current/prospective vendors to help evaluate products and learn about new creative technologies
- Provide weekly project updates for Delivering Region's Project Manager and XTG Program Manager
- Coordinate with Delivering Region's Project Manager to assist with securing the necessary specialized personnel for installation
- Support Delivering Region's Project Manager in project hand-off to the installation team when needed
- Provide Delivering Region's Project Manager documented test results from system testing and commissioning
- Review project designs created by internal and external resources and submit to CAD resources
- Review field and shop red-line drawings, revise shop drawings to “as-built’ status for submission to CAD resources
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Must-Haves:
- Ability to read, understand and augment AV infrastructure plans and architectural coordination drawings
- Ability to read, understand and augment AV signal flow diagrams
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Bluebeam, or other tools for design coordination
- Communicate and interact with internal employees, clients and colleagues in a professional and timely manner
- Proven business writing skills
- Proficient with test and calibration equipment
- Support user acceptance testing
- Ability to program, change and troubleshoot (AMX/Crestron, QSYS, Biamp, CorioMaster, Analog Way, Blackmagic Design, Tricaster, Ross)
- Ability to diagnose complex system problems including Ethernet network issues
- Advanced computer skills as required for the design, configuration, and operation of AV equipment
- Ability to work and think independently and ensuring to meet deadlines
- Effective communication and interaction with employees, clients and colleagues
- Valid Driver’s License and a Motor Vehicle Record that meets AVI-SPL driving standards
- Valid Passport and ability to travel internationally is required
Nice-To-Haves:
- Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent
- Formal education in Electronics or related field preferred
- Past performance in immersive, experiential or broadcast job role preferred
- Strong networking skills and certifications preferred
- Minimum Seven years of AV experience is preferred
- A four year degree or military experience may be considered in place of job experience
- AVIXA General CTS (Certified Technical Specialist) is preferred
