Job Summary

 

  • The Solution Architect will engage Globally, with Direct Sales or Channel Sales contacts to ensure customer requirements are well defined including existing equipment inventory through to end user experience requirements for core service functions.
  • The Solution Architect provides pre-sales engineering support with a focus on designing comprehensive managed and/or professional services solutions for the life-cycle management of the customer’s AV & UCC Environment leveraging both AVI-SPL products and services as well as manufacturer’s solutions as needed, to develop a fit-for-purpose customer solution.
  • The Solution Architect will provide direct support to named Strategic Accounts to ensure customer requirements are well defined including existing equipment inventory through to end user experience requirements for core service functions. This role is an expert service evangelist with a focus on developing net new service opportunities in large Enterprise and Global Accounts.
  • The Solutions Architect will lead business engagements, developing a comprehensive roadmap, managing engagement artifacts, and effortlessly participating at all levels within an organization to build rapport and credibility.
  • This role is the subject matter expert “SME” within a specific discipline of technology and/or service solutions. These major disciplines are

 

  • Comprehensive Service Solutions including support & maintenance services, Managed Services, Hosted Services, along with various engagement models including on-site staffing, remote support, and cloud-based models.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Responsible for creating business cases to develop solution offers in support of sales efforts, including ownership and delivery of the solution design documents as needed from sales channels.
  • Responsible for the development and design of complex services solutions and as a trusted advisor help drive to achieve our customers’ entire collaboration objectives. The areas of responsibility and therefore expertise is including but not limited to:
  • Business Architecture methodology – People/Process/Technology
  • Budgetary and Detailed Proposal writing
  • Statements of Work creation and Maintenance
  • Services Deployment Models (Hosted/Managed)
  • Customer Network Connectivity Design
  • RFx repository creation and maintenance
  • Proven expert in Managed and Professional Services Product Knowledge
  • Proven internal business process knowledge of end-to-end customer life cycle support for Managed Services Solutions
  • Facilitate the application of business architecturefor business and IT value by developing and maintaining business capabilities of the enterprise
  • Respond to support RFx activity from sales channels as needed at unpredictable volumes and work with the Global Proposal Center team in these efforts.
  • Document specifications for customer solutions while providing general technical support to the other Sr. and Solution Architects where required to support all services opportunities including:
  • Development of Service Bill of Materials
  • Specification of Hardware Bill of Materials (where applicable)
  • Managed Device Components & Service Level Definition
  • Service Reporting Requirements
  • Deployment Timeline Requirements/Phased Deployment Definitions
  • Specification of any custom requirement including delivery scope
  • Managed Conferencing Requirements
  • Reservations Method(s)
  • Expected Conference Volumes
  • Incident Management Requirements
  • Opportunity Handoff to Service Implementation Team & Knowledge Transfer
  • Consultative and Change Management Support for Customer Solutions through Implementation and first 30 days of production
  • Develop concise solution context to enable approvals where needed for custom solution aspects
  • Proactively provide input to Product Management and DevOps Teams based on the following market intelligence:
  • Customer objections to company products and services
  • Gap analysis from Customer Requirements Specifications
  • Competitive intelligence supplied by customers or learned via a bid process or customer engagements
  • Gain/Maintain Strong Managed and Professional Services Product Knowledge
  • Gain/Maintain Strong internal business process knowledge of end-to-end customer life cycle support for Managed Services Solutions

Education and/or Experience

  • Minimum High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 – 7 years’ experience in UC Solutions/Video Conferencing Engineering in similar or related field as well as a specialization in one of the following:
  • Remote managed services
  • Integrated workplace management systems
  • Digital Media and Signage
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field is desired
  • Information Technology generalist with proven experience with Internetworking videoconferencing network technologies
  • Certifications or experience equivalent to Cisco Certified Design Professional (CCDP Collaboration) and/or CCVP and Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) required
  • Technical Engineering Industry Certifications for Manufacture Video Conferencing (i.e. Polycom, Pexip, Cisco, and others)
  • Understating of various virtualization technologies such as VM Ware is a plus
