WHAT YOU’LL DO
The Onsite Maintenance Technician is identified as a Tech 2 (T2) position intended to provide diagnostic troubleshooting and problem resolution for all AV system failures that may occur. In addition, the Onsite Maintenance Technician will perform detailed preventive maintenance checks and services intended to maintain the systems at peak operating condition at all times and fully aligned and adjusted to original system and manufacturer's specifications.
Day-To-Day Responsibilities:
- Provide direct assistance and training to end users in the operation of AV systems.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance checks & services on AV/VTC systems.
- Perform advanced routine maintenance support on all AV systems including but not limited to basic troubleshooting and system fault isolation, projector lamp changes, filter cleaning, swap-outs of peripherals, etc.
- Provide Show Tech Support of planned events, both onsite and off, as needed.
- Work flexible schedules as required.
- Perform administrative tasks such as completing service tickets, maintaining active status board onsystem readiness, etc.
- Perform service level troubleshooting and maintenance support on AV & VTC systems.
- Setup and monitor video calls, as needed.
- Technician compliance with all Customer safety and procedural guidelines at all times.
- Track all maintenance activity start to finish with proper documentation.
- Maintain sufficient spares on hand to affect rapid problem resolution for routine service issues.
- Coordinate the Return Merchandise Authorization ("RMA") lifecycle with customer's suppliers and/or Original Equipment Manufacturers ("OEM"), as needed.
- Coordinate third-party rental and staging services for special events, as needed.
- Maintain accurate inventory on all AV/VTC systems, including spare parts.
- Perform administrative tasks such as completing service tickets, maintaining active status board on system readiness, etc.
- Travel to various job sites as required
Items to Consider:
- AVI-SPL reserves the right to alter work hours and work location as necessary. Work hours may vary based on client requirements and may include travel to various locations in support of the account.
- This position will generally work on customer sites and may deal with a construction site type of work environment.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Must-Haves:
- Ability to effectively communicate with employees, customers and colleagues
- Ability to use hand and power tools in a safe and efficient manner including soldering & crimping connectors
- Ability to work and think independently and ensuring to meet deadlines
- Intermediate computer knowledge
- Knowledge of basic signal flow for audio, video and control
- Valid Driver’s License and a Motor Vehicle Record that meets AVI-SPL driving standards
- Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 1 – 3 years of audiovisual integration experience preferred
