WHAT YOU’LL DO
The Onsite Maintenance Engineer with UCC Focus is primarily responsible for the planning, design, and deployment of Unified Communications systems. This role will be responsible for implementing and integrating on premise or cloud-based UCC solutions, of complex of large scale, on a customer’s premise or remotely, within the candidate’s career discipline (Cisco, Zoom, Polycom, etc). The role will work in partnership with the customer, management team, global helpdesk, and SIG teams to provide on premises support for AVI-SPL customers at customer site(s) with the end goals of delivering a world-class Customer Service experience.
Day-To-Day Responsibilities:
- Support appropriate solutions based on existing environment, create detailed design documents, evaluate and test new and evolving technologies and performance.
- Collaborate with Project Managers throughout the implementation process.
- Creation and maintenance of project and technical documentation.
- Assist in Deployment, Integration & Testing of UC&C infrastructure within the client environment.
- Work closely with internal and external stakeholders on products and implementations as needed.
- Participate in key projects of client to provide recommendations and guidance for system migrations
- Provide basic project coordination for in-house projects to ensure they adhere to company policy, are completed on time and within budget, meet the deliverables of the project while following change control procedures
- Development & Documentation of Customer Network Connectivity Design
- Development & Documentation of Services Deployment Model (Hosted/Managed)
- Provide required job progress reports to all internal and external stakeholders. Raise any issues to Management for proper escalation.
- Coordination of project tasks, and changes
- Ability to research and plan an optimal upgrade or change strategies
- Ability to research and answer product specific technical questions within the candidate’s career discipline (Cisco, Microsoft, Polycom, etc)
- Assist helpdesk with configuration changes and troubleshooting as necessary
- Work with Engineers

- Ability to troubleshoot basic AV network and connection issues
- Ability to use software to produce documents and perform analysis work
- Demonstrate the ability to work successfully with diverse cultures while accommodating global time zone constraints
- Must have
• Cisco CCNA Certified
• 3+ years of experience with: deployment and support of videoconference rooms, configuration and troubleshooting of Cisco switches via CLI, support of on-prem and/or SaaS video service provider (Zoom, WebEx, Google Meet, etc.)
• Excellent spreadsheet skills - filters, pivot tables, low-level data analysis
• Excellent troubleshooting/isolating issues with video quality problems and network problems
• Excellent trouble ticketing skills (ServiceNow, excellent documentation and clear follow-up and next steps)
• Strong communication skills: Vendor communication skills (hardware and service provider), Slack, Outlook - Valid Drivers License
Nice-To-Haves:
- Cisco CCNP certification (Enterprise and/or Collaboration)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field
- Knowledge of Splunk (queries and creating dashboards)
- Knowledge of Crestron programming
- Knowledge of Biamp DSP configuration
- Knowledge of automation (e.g. scripting via Python)
- knowledge and troubleshooting experience with WLAN technologies
